This is the one part of Singapore where the terrain properly tests a bike. The Rail Corridor is loose stone, and loose stone cuts sidewalls, causes punctures and throws grit into the chain and cassette. Road bikes on that surface are the most common mismatch we see.
Then there is gradient. Here you actually use your brakes and gears rather than coasting along a flat connector. Descents cook pads and heat rims, and climbing under load finds a worn chain.
